Coast-To-Coast Challenge
"Moving In Motion"
We warmly invite you to join the Cleveland Chapter for a nature hike on
Saturday, October 3, 2026.
### Event Overview
- Date: October 3, 2026
- Time: 12:00 noon - 3:00 PM
- Activity: West River Nature Guided Tour
- Meeting Location: Panera Bread
7337 Broadview Road
Seven Hills, OH 44131
- We will gather at Panera Bread before beginning the hike.
- Cleveland members will be identified by wearing their Cleveland gear and
white canes.
### Purpose of the Event
We invite you to come as you are-bring your spirit of independence as we
walk together in unity and strength. This is a welcoming, family-friendly
event where everyone is encouraged to participate, including blind
individuals, people with low vision, and their loved ones and more. Thus,
you may see participants such as a blind person confidently navigating with
a white cane, a sibling wearing sunglasses walking alongside their family
member, and many others coming together in support, friendship, and
community. This is what inclusion looks like-people of all backgrounds
moving forward together.
This hike is more than a recreational outing. It is a public celebration of
our mission and commitment to equality, opportunity, and full participation
as members of the National Federation of the Blind.
This event supports our "Moving in Motion" Coast To Coast Challenge,
promoting awareness, inclusion, and active engagement while reinforcing that
blindness is a natural part of the human experience and that independence
and success are possible at every stage of life.
### Fundraising & Support
We are also raising financial support for the National Office of the
National Federation of the Blind. Your participation and outreach help
strengthen our programs and advocacy efforts, and we would be greatly
appreciative for $25 or any donation amount.
To sponsor a member, please indicate the donation is contributing to the
"Cleveland Chapter".

You may also reach out directly to Chacity Gilliam, Vice President for more
information at 216-644-4374 or chacitygilliam04 at gmail.com.
### After the Hike
Following the hike, we will return to Panera Bread for food, fellowship, and
meaningful conversation as we continue building community and connection.
We look forward to walking together in strength, unity, and purpose on
October 3. This will be a joyful, inclusive, and empowering experience for
all.
