Hi Suzanne,

 

This morning, I spoke with Lidia Rodriguez, a student at Case Western
Reserve University, who needs help promoting an accessible pottery workshop
she's organizing this summer. Since OLBPD primarily reaches out to our
patrons through the quarterly newsletter that targets the entire state, I
suggested we focus our efforts locally, starting with NFB. The workshop can
accommodate six participants. 

 

Below is a description of her event. Could you please review it and let me
know if you can think of any potential participants?

 

Accessible Pottery Workshop Series (Cleveland, Summer 2026)


This summer, Art House Cleveland will host a free, accessible pottery
workshop series for adults who are blind or visually impaired, including
those with partial or progressive vision loss. The workshops are designed
around tactile instruction, hand-over-hand guidance, and adaptive tools,
allowing participants to fully engage in ceramics through touch rather than
visual demonstration.

 

Participants will explore hand-building techniques and optional
wheel-throwing. Workshops will be led by professional ceramic instructors
with trained volunteers providing individualized support. Transportation
assistance will be available as needed, and participation is completely
free.
