Cleveland Chapter Members and Friends,

I trust all is well!

Today is my birthday, and God has truly blessed me with a family like all of
you. I could not have accomplished the things I have in my life without your
support and encouragement. Thank you for everything you do for me, for the
blind, and for people with disabilities throughout Ohio. I am sincerely
grateful for the connections and friendships we have built together.

Congratulations to Tomeika Hurt who was crowned Miss National Star this
weekend. She won 8 out of 10 venues. We are proud of her! She will tell us
all about it very soon.

## Celebrating the ADA

As many of you know, many of us were unable to attend the Disability Pride
event at Wade Oval last Wednesday. We're going to make another opportunity
to be out in the community, raise awareness, and have some fun together!

Date: Tuesday, July 29

Time: 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Location: Wade Oval, 11030 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio  

Please come out, show your support, help spread awareness, and enjoy the
evening with us. There will be great food trucks, including Zanzibar, and
live R&B and Go-Go music. Wear your NFB gear, bring your family and friends,
and let's make this a great event together!

## Ohio State Convention Pre-Registration

Pre-registration for the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio State
Convention is now open.

Please register online and select your convention options:

- Convention pre-registration: $30

- Banquet ticket: $55

- Box lunch: $25

The box lunches are excellent! Be sure to review all the convention
information online, and please remember to indicate any food allergies
during registration.

## Hotel Reservations

Please make your hotel reservation as soon as possible so you don't miss out
on our room block.

Call 800-627-7468 and let the reservation representative know you are
booking a room for the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio State
Convention.

- Room rate: $129 per night

- Tax: 16.5%

No payment will be charged until your stay, but it is important to reserve
your room now before the block fills up.

## Convention Assistance

If you did not attend the National Convention and need assistance attending
the Ohio State Convention, please give me a call. We will do everything we
can to help make your attendance possible. This is one of the reasons we
raise funds-to help members participate.

One of the best ways to reduce costs is by sharing a hotel room with another
member, so please make your reservation as soon as possible.

## Cleveland Chapter Picnic

Our annual Cleveland Chapter Picnic will be held on:

Date: Saturday, August 22

Time: 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Location: Lakewood Park

Please contact Vice President Chacity Gilliam to let her know what dish or
item you will be bringing.

The Cleveland Chapter Board will provide delicious whole chicken wings and
hot dogs from Lulu's Restaurant. Our Fundraising Chair, Tomeika Hurt, and
Wilbert Turner can both attest to how good the wings are!

Please contact Chacity at 216-644-4374 to let her know what you'll be
bringing.

## Cleveland Chapter Gear

Beginning September 15, we will begin accepting orders for Cleveland Chapter
apparel.

Items available will include:

- Jogging suits

- Jogging jackets

- Jogging pants

- Long-sleeve T-shirts

- Zip-up hoodies

Ordering will run from September 15 through October 4.

We have some exciting new designs that will be revealed soon, along with
pricing information.

## Cleveland Chapter Meetings

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming chapter meetings at the Martin
Luther King Jr. Library:

- September 19

- October 24

Meeting times will be announced approximately two weeks before each meeting.

## Charter Bus to the 80th Ohio State Convention

Seats on the Cleveland Chapter charter bus are filling quickly!

If you have not reserved your seat, please do so as soon as possible.

All bus payments must be received by September 19, 2026.

The bus schedule is:

- Depart McDonald's (3050 Carnegie Avenue): 7:30 a.m.

- Pick up Greater Akron members: 8:30 a.m.

Installment payments are welcome. However, the full balance must be paid by
September 19.

To submit your payment via Zelle, send it to:

Please remember to add 50 cents to your Zelle payment to help cover
transaction costs.
