Although, I have lost all vision. I recall the beautiful golden, red and brownish leaves that fall leaving a mess in the yard. I love wearing sweaters and nice jackets as well. But what I love the most is being in doors with friends and my great tv programs that were on hiatus, and now resuming.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>As many of you know, we lost Henry Butler, and his funeral was on the same day as the Ohio Board meeting in Cincinnati. Therefore, Cleveland will have a celebration for him this month. Stay tuned for the details. . <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Joann Williams had back surgery last week. Please keep her in your prayers. And we all know that Cecil is recovering as well. So, do the same for him.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>As a reminder, Cleveland will hold elections this month. His cell is 330-328-9860.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Cleveland, last night, I submitted the 2024 Gavel Report. Each year we are honored by celebrating our work at the Ohio Convention. I am happy to say that there are a few Chapters that have done great work. They should be celebrated as well. So, this year it will be a time that we will hold our breath. I am so honored to work along-side you on the work we do in our community.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>This month is Bline Equality Achievement Month and Cleveland will be voting as a Chapter on Monday, October 28<sup>th</sup> at the Cuyahoga Board of Elections. They will have four accessible machines for us. Then, we can venture for a bite to eat together.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Ohio Convention Reminders: <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>1: Pre-Registration ends on November 4<sup>th</sup>. Please do not wait until then. Pre-registration is $25, and the banquet is $55. Go to NFBOHIO.ORG/Convention and complete the form. If you need assistance, let me know.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>2: Also, the deadline to reserve a room at the Doubletree is October 15, which is before our Chapter meeting. Please reserve the rooms now. Call: (800) 445-8667 and use “National Federation of the Blind as the block.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>3: Cleveland is creating a “Love Bird Basket”. Please bring your items to the October meeting. Chacity has agreed to organize the basket for us. Please remember, do not bring sex toys, eatable underwear, or any exotic or products that you would not want a child, senior or others to have. The Convention is a family oriented event. As a suggestion, candles, wine, glasses, bath salt, body fragrancies and things of that sort. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>4: For members who requested convention assistance, most of you have not pre-registered. I am urging you to do this. President, Payne has approved your request. Therefore, as your Chapter President, please take care of this matter now.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Moreover, I was asked if anyone could attend the convention. The answer is yes. Have them also pre-register online. I can tell you that this will be one of the most impactful events for Ohio. There are great presentations, seminars, performances, and vendors that we have ever had previously. I am so excited, and you should be too.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Finally, the Cleveland Chapter meeting will be held at the Garfield Library on October 26. I will send out the address and time one week prior to the meeting.
