Federation family and interested parties,
Of note is the deadline for Scholarship applications for the National
Federation of the Blind national Scholarship program. Each year, 30
scholarships are awarded to deserving students who meet the qualifications
including legal blindness. If you know of or are a blind student who will
either enter a college or university program in the Fall of 2016 or who will
return to college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student,
please, please encourage them to apply. The webpage located at
https://nfb.org/scholarships contains all of the pertinent information that
explains eligibility and requirements for application. An important part of
the application is scheduling an interview with the President of the NFB
Affiliate in which you live. The Affiliate President then writes a letter of
recommendation for you based on the interview with him or her. Any student
applying for the NFB scholarship may contact me via the information below my
signature. There is a call scheduled to discuss the program hosted by the
National Association of Blind Students coming up soon! The information for
that call is below. I look forward to hearing from current or college bound
studetns in the very near future!
Warmly,

Jeannie M. Massay, President
National Federation of theBlind

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day, we raise
expectations of the blind because low expectations create obstacles between
blind people and our dreams. Blindness is not what holds you back. You can
live the life youw ant.!.

Subject: [Nfbnet-students-list] February Membership Call: Scholarships!

Howdy NABS,

As students, we are generally not prepared to turn down free money. With
that in mind the NABS Membership Committee is pleased to present an
opportunity to learn about an excellent source of free money! Sunday
February 28th, our guest speaker Patti Chang will be presenting on the
National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program. Since the deadline for
applying to the National Federation of the Blind Scholarship is quickly
approaching, what better time to join us and have any and all questions
answered by the Chairwoman of the NFB Scholarship committee?

The call will take place this Sunday February 28th at 7 p.m eastern (6 p.m
central, 5 p.m mountain, 4 p.m pacific) on our conference line. Find the
details below.

Phone: 605-475-6700
access code: 7869673

Hope you can all join us!

Best,

Candice
