Federation family,

The Oklahoma affiliate is going to, once again, publish a quarterly
newsletter for our membership. With the start of the new year we are hoping
to pick it back up. A state newsletter can be a great way for us to keep up
with legislation, events, and other things happening throughout the state.
Also, it can be a way to keep up with local chapters and state affiliate
activities. It can also give you the opportunity to share your thoughts
about matters that affect the blind. A state-wide newsletter is a great way
for us to get to know our Federation family members that don't live in our
area of the state. Our state newsletter will be a quarterly publication,
published in winter, spring, summer, and fall. In order to meet what should
be considered our winter release, we need to release a newsletter soon.
Therefore, we are looking for articles for the newsletter. Similar to
articles that you read in the Braille Monitor each month. Topics on
blindness and around blindness that you think people need to know about.
Some suggestions include topics on braille, accessible technology,
alternative techniques, and personal experiences. You do not have to be a
writer to write for our local state newsletter. It's easy, if you would like
to write an article for the newsletter; first, I ask that you email me at
newsletter at nfbok.org <mailto:newsletter at nfbok.org> letting me know you want
to write an article and letting me know what your topic is. Once you're
finished your article, you can submit it to me at the email address above.
In order for the articles to be published in our upcoming newsletter an
article must be submitted by Sunday, February 26th. There are no
requirements for an article specifically. I ask that any articles submitted
be at least one paragraph, and please keep in mind the spelling and grammar,
in order to be published. if you have any questions feel free to contact me
at the information below. You can look for the winter newsletter to be
released in March. So keep an eye out!

Sincerely,

Cammie Loehr Board member,
The national Federation of the blind of Oklahoma
And President, Oklahoma Association of blind students
A division of the national Federation of the blind of Oklahoma
