Subject: [Nfbnet-members-list] NFB of Missouri Zoom Conference Calls on
April 14 & April 16

The NFB of Missouri is excited to host 2 conference calls this week. Please
read below for details.

Tuesday, April 14

9:00 p.m. EDT | Discussion on The Benefits and Drawbacks of Preferential
Treatment for the Blind

We will be having a stimulating philosophical discussion about the benefits
and drawbacks of preferential treatment for the blind as well as strategies
to deal with unwanted preferential treatment. Whether you have a good story
to share or some wisdom to distill on this topic, pleas join us for this
conversation.

Thursday, April 16,

9:00 p.m. EDT | We are going National with our Transition to Blindness call
and changing the name.

For more than a year now we have been doing what we call our transition to
blindness call. It has been a tremendous success, and while it does include
people who are new to blindness who are looking for tips and techniques, we
have found that a number of us who are veterans at being blind also have our
own questions. We are also finding that the word transition is associated
more with high school to work or high school to college than it is with
moving from site to blindness.

For all of these reasons we are going to change the name of our group so
that it is clear that anyone who has questions about blindness techniques or
has suggestions to offer will feel free to participate in the call. If you
have a struggle and need a strategy, this call is for you. If you have
stumbled onto a good idea and just can't wait to share it, again, this call
is for you.

So, finally we reveal: the new name of our group is, Your journey through
blindness. As usual, our call will be the third Thursday of the month. How
to dial-in appears below, and we look forward to your participation. This is
a wonderful group, and part of what makes it wonderful is you!
