White Cane Safety Day is fast approaching and we would like to invite and
encourage you to come be a part of the celebration!  We are having it this
year at the same location we had it two years ago, in front of the Ronald J.
Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Avenue, in the heart of downtown
Oklahoma City.  We chose this location because of the proximity to the
county courthouse and city hall as well as having a street car stop right
next to the library on Hudson.  There are also several buses that drop off
on the west side of Hudson at Robert S Kerr; 009, 012, 013, 13N and 016.

 

We will meet at 11:00 to read the Governors Proclamation then walk around
the area circling the court house and city hall.  We will end at 12:00 just
in time to go catch lunch at one of the numerus eating places in the area.
Embark as graciously donated Street Car passes again this year which gives
you the opportunity to ride down and eat in Bricktown or Automobile Alley as
well.

 

This is a great opportunity to show the public that just because you are
blind, it doesn't mean you can't travel, live and work independently!  We
look forward to seeing everyone at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15th.
