Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to announce that we will welcome Willem, one of the
founders of the OKO app, to present at our state convention in
September. There will be a Q&A session after his presentation where
members are encouraged to ask questions.

For background, the OKO app makes every intersection with a pedestrian
signal accessible for blind and low vision folks. It recognizes the
red hand, the walking man, and the red hand with the accompanying
countdown timer and gives that information to the user using audio and
haptic feedback. Furthermore, because the app responds very quickly,
you also get additional input for orientation purposes. It basically
turns every intersection into one with an accessible pedestrian
signal.

I would encourage everyone to download the app so that you can ask
questions to Willem in September. Looking very forward to his
presentation.

Warmth,
Sanho

National Federation of the Blind of Oklahoma
