Good evening Sanho,
I’m not sure why am on this list. I tried to get off of it years ago because they kept trying to put me in the independence market right in the middle of the orientation and mobility seminar. They never seem to understand that the reason I’m good with the canes is because I go to the seminar!
I’m hoping to be asked to present again at the contemporary issues on blindness seminar, so I really do not need independence. Market bugging me about volunteering while we are trying to do this.
Additionally, I have at least one coworker from Tulsa office coming to convention, I plan on unofficially mentoring her to make sure she gets to all the cool stuff and have someone to explain things to her as we go. She is a cited person, and I was very little about blindness beyond what she learned in college and the few blind friends with the limited skills they present in front of her. Convention is going to blow her mind.
Independence market would let me wait until the full agenda comes out and then decide when to come volunteer. I might be more interested because it is a good thing and I used to enjoy it but now I just have too much to do. They stop contacting me after a few years and I really thought I was off the list but it looks like I’m back on it so please let independence market staff know that if I can, I will stop by to see if anybody needs me to fill in for a restroom break, but that I’m not available for the full session. I am definitely not available on July 1, two or three.
Much appreciation
