The issues are selected from official positions of the Federation and may address concerns in the following areas: relevant civil rights issues; educational programs and services; rehabilitation of the blind for competitive employment; the operation of vending facilities by blind persons on public property; specialized library services for the blind; the organization and funding of federal programs; Social Security and Supplemental Income programs; and other timely topics. Oklahoma’s congressional visits will be scheduled on Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday morning, January 30. . <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>MEETINGS: <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Monday, January 28, 2:00 p.m. – Legislative Seminar <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Monday, January 28, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Great Gathering In <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Tuesday, January 29, and Wednesday, January 30, Oklahoma Hill visits<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=Heading1Char><span style='font-size:16.0pt'>Financial Assistance</span></span>: The NFB of Oklahoma Board of Directors has allocated $600.00 from the Live the Life You Want Fund for up to 3 first time attendees of Washington Seminar to receive a $200.00 stipend. Recipients of these stipends are responsible for all expenses above and beyond the amount of the stipend. The Oklahoma Affiliate may contribute to shared hotel rooms for those who apply for the stipend to attend. Stipends will be provided to recipients at the Great Gathering In on January 30th. Stipend recipients are required to attend all of the meetings listed above in addition to a meeting with the Oklahoma delegation to review our meeting schedule and practice our presentation to our representatives. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Selected applicants can reduce cost by room sharing and cab sharing.
