2. President Rosemary Freedman called the meeting to order at 10:13 am.



3. Secretary’s Report: Linda Mackey

Linda Mackey read the January 2022 minutes. John Kauffman motioned to
approve as presented, seconded by Brian Mackey, and unanimously approved.



4. Treasurer’s Report: Brian Mackey

Brian Mackey provided the following treasury figures:

Linda Mackey motioned to accept the treasury report as presented, seconded
by Mike Babb, and unanimously approved.



5. Old/New Business: All

a. Winter Dance Party:

Rosemary Freedman thanked Mark Millisock and Barb Chrisman for organizing
this year’s Winter Dance Party, which was a huge success. Mark informed all
that he and Barb plans to do it again next year. The net income from the
event totaled $1,466.88.



b. Upcoming Social Event:

Rosemary Freedman reminded all that we will be doing another social
gathering dinner on March 18 at 5pm. We will dine at GNA Ristorante in West
Reading. All are welcome to attend, including non-members. Everyone will
pay for their own meal. Please inform Rosemary by March 14 if you will be
attending, so that she can give a final count to the restaurant for the
reservation.



c. 2022 Budget:

Rosemary Freedman proposed the following budget for the remainder of 2022:



   - Transportation Assistance: $1,500.00 ($100 per blind member, receipts
   can be submitted to Brian Mackey once a month and Brian will get
   authorizations from Rosemary)
   - Holiday Party: $400.00 (up to $20 per paid member, no alcoholic
   beverages included)
   - National Convention Donations:
      - tenBroek Fund: $100.00
      - White Cane Fund: $125.00
      - Jernigan Fund: $25.00
      - SUN Fund: $25.00
   - Annual Affiliate Membership Dues: $100.00
   - State Convention: $1,000.00 (1/2 of 3 rooms for 4 nights)
   - National Convention Financial Assistance: $0.00
   - Assisting any blind persons in Berks County with personal financial
   needs: $1,000.00 (cane, oven mitts, talking timer or watch, etc.) , the
   amount given to each person will be given on a case by case basis and
   approved by the chapter board even if the same person requests assistance
   multiple times
   - Social events (van rentals): $800.00 (2 trips, one to Atlantic City in
   August and another trip to the

Penn Touch Museum

   - If each trip exceeds $400.00, the members will pay the difference
      - The driver will not be paid by the chapter since it will be a
      member volunteering to drive the van



Total budget: $5,075.00



Mike Babb motioned to approve the proposed budget, seconded by John
Kaufman, and unanimously approved.




8. Brian Mackey motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mike Babb, and
unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned by President Rosemary
Freedman at 11:19 AM. Our next meeting will take place on April 9, 2022 via
the affiliate’s Zoom room (meeting ID 215 988 0888).
