Jigsaw Chapter Meeting Minutes

Saturday, August 6, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 10:03 am, by President, Dave Miller.  

Present were 9 members:  President Dave Miller, Secretary, Alta St. Louis,
State President Lynn Heitz, Christine Callahan, Brian Mackey, Frank Beam,
Rob Sarabaugh, Catherine Clegg, Preston Gaylor.

 

ROUND TABLE

 

Alta mentioned traveling to North Carolina and Florida next week, also
mentioned Para transit in a large city has its pros and cons.

Brian mentioned he is still at Double Tree, he attended National Convention
will let Lynn comment, also mom says hello.

Rob mentioned he is in Florida and swimming, he is also looking for a friend
his age.

Christine mentioned it is hot, also mentioned she is traveling to California
for nine days.

Frank mentioned he had work done to his house, also asked members are there
organizations to help with work in the home.  Dave suggested county office
may have assistance and Lynn mentioned if age 65 and older the Office of
Ageing can  help.

Preston mentioned he has an application with OVR, he is very busy and he was
at Virginia Beach.

Catherine mentioned she is at the Otter Banks, she attended National
Convention it was very good however, came home with covid, she would like to
attend state convention.

Lynn announced registration for State Convention is open.  Lynn also
mentioned a legislation to branch off from BBVS for the blind and visually
impaired, members with an open or close case with BBVS can complete a
survey, names of completed survey will be drawn at State Convention for a
$50 gift card.

Registration is open for State Convention, Hotel $119 per night, Sheraton
Station.

 

PRESIDENTIAL RELEASE

Members were able to listen to the release.

President Mark Riccobono delivers presidential release #518 before a live
virtual audience. He provides perspective and updates regarding the 2022
National Convention, our advocacy and policy efforts including the recent
anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and planning for Blind
Equality Achievement Month. President Riccobono also shares Federation
Family news and the customary endings.

 

Next Meeting, Saturday, September 3, at 10:00 am.
