The Pennsylvania Organization of Blind Parents will hold its monthly
meeting on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7PM to 8:30 PM ET. The meeting
will be held via Zoom.

We are pleased to welcome Melanie Wright, a Certified Doula, as our guest
speaker. Melanie will speak with us about her work as a Certified Doula and
discuss ways she can be a better advocate and provide meaningful assistance
to disabled parents.

Melanie Wright's bio:

My name is Melanie Wright, but my friends from my pregnancy circles
affectionately call me Doula Mel. I became a doula because I genuinely want
to offer the support I wished I had during my own pregnancies. I see myself
as a 'Compassionate General' at births, bringing knowledge, patience, and
warmth to every experience.

I have a special passion for supporting disabled parents who are currently
pregnant or considering starting their journey. I want to be a source of
encouragement, guidance, and advocacy for you, especially within the
sometimes overwhelming hospital environment. Pregnancy is a beautiful yet
challenging time, and I’m here to ask: How can I best support you on this
journey?
