<p class="MsoNormal">Patricia Bath was a black female doctor who received a patent for the laserphaco to remove cataracts.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Her research showed rates of glaucoma in black patients was twice and high and due largely to lack of access to quality eye care.<o:p></o:p></p>
