<p><span style="font-family: calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color:black;">The Museum of the Blind People's Movement will not only change the lives of visitors but will spark transformation of museums and cultural institutions across the United States.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color:black;">As part of our ongoing efforts to advocate for inclusion and accessibility in museums, the National Federation of the Blind will co-present a session at the upcoming American Alliance of Museums annual meeting in May, the largest conference for museum professionals in the world. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color:black;">Our session, "<strong>Inclusively Planning, Concepting, and Developing a Museum from the Ground Up</strong>," will share the innovative design process we are using to create the Museum of the Blind People's Movement. We aim to inspire museum professionals to adopt a proactive approach toward inclusivity, ensuring that museums serve as welcoming, equitable spaces for all visitors.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color:black;">This important work comes as the federal Institute for Museum and Library Services was recently eliminated under a presidential executive order, leaving the future of public funding for museums and libraries in jeopardy.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color:black;">Despite uncertainty about future federal support for cultural institutions, our commitment to building the Museum of the Blind People's Movement remains strong. </span></p>
