On September 19, 2025 the House of Representatives passed a seven week Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund the federal government until November 21 and in this CR the Medicare telehealth expansion was once again included. Unfortunately, the Senate did not pass it in time to avoid a federal government shut down meaning the telehealth provisions expired also.

The above background information makes our advocacy to get the CONNECT for Health Act passed even more important because this bill makes the Medicare telehealth program permanent. On September 4 we sent out a legislative alert where we asked for our membership to call or email our members of the House of Representatives to build support to pass the CONNECT for Health Act H.R. 4206. Because of our advocacy we went from 17 to 39 cosponsors. The Senate companion bill currently has 65 cosponsors which we suspect is from our much advocacy on this topic since March. We need to keep the pressure on our Congressional members ensuring they pass H.R.4206/S.1261 making these necessary provisions permanent!

Thank you for all your advocacy on the above topic and all our legislative initiatives!

Justin T.
