Texas Parents of Blind Children (TPOBC)
Would like to invite all families of blind and low vision children to
join us during the
2010 NFB – TX State Convention in Abilene, Texas

When:   Friday October 22- Sunday October 24, 2010.
Where: The Hilton Garden Inn
             4449 Ridgemont Drive,  Abilene, TX 79606

Room rates are $75 for singles and doubles and $95 triples and quads.
A continental breakfast (muffins, oatmeal, waffles, toast, fresh
fruit, etc.) is included.  A made-to-order breakfast is only $7.95
extra.

Please make reservations as soon as possible.
Deadline to reserve your rooms at this amazing rate is on September 22, 2010.

TPOBC will be hosting the following:

“Building A TPOBC Parent Division in Your Area” on Friday, October 22
from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm

Braille Book Flea Market on Friday, October 22 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm

Luncheon and Elections Will Be Held on Saturday, October 23 from 12:00
pm to 1:30 pm (Site to be determined later – Estimated cost $5.00 per
person)

The following will be offered for children Saturday, October 23:

9:15 am to 10:30 am –  (All Ages) Zoo Exhibit courtesy of the Abilene
Zoo - Children will be able to have a hands-on experience with some
live animals, animal artifacts (skeletons, pelts, etc.)

2:00 pm to 5:00 pm – (Ages 8 – 18) Learn about the Wild West – Take a
trip to the unique Frontier Texas Museum.  There is good audio
narration at most exhibits and many exhibits allow you to touch and
explore.

Childcare will be available for ages 0 – 7 yrs.

this convention. Please contact your caseworker.
