Hello everybody,

I am posting an announcement I received about the Bexar County's Area
Agency on Aging informative event happening August 22nd. I am only
forwarding the information and do not have any further information. If
you have questions there is a phone number in the announcement.

Forwarded announcement:

I just want to be sure that you received this important announcement
about Bexar County’s Area Agency on Aging “Open House” and were able
to share it with NFB members and friends.

It is unfortunate that most blind and visually impaired seniors here
in San Antonio know very little or nothing about the local Area Agency
on Aging and the free services they provide and, likewise, the Area
Agency on Aging staff know little about blind and visually impaired
folks. So this is a “win win” opportunity for us to learn about their
programs and for them to learn about our needs.

The first Open House is coming up on Monday, August 22. There will be
a one-hour formal presentation at 9 o’clock a.m., followed by an hour
and a half information fair where attendees can visit with agency
staff to learn about AAA free programs and services. such as: the
Alamo Service Connection; Health/Wellness Programs; Volunteer
Programs; Ombudsman Program; Caregiver Services; Weatherization;
Transportation Programs; Nutrition Information Services and Benefits
Counseling.

The event will take place at the Elvira Cisneros Community Center, 517
S.W. Military Dr.

Space will be limited so it is important to call to RSVP: (210) 927-9328.

Hope you can make it there.

Thank you.

Larry Johnson

Live each day with joy.
