Subject: Research Study on AI Explanations for Blind & Low-Vision Users

Hello Wendy,

My name is Abu Noman Md Sakib, and I am a PhD student at the University of
Texas at San Antonio. I am reaching out to request your support in sharing a
research opportunity with members of your blind and low-vision community.

We are conducting a study to understand how blind and low-vision individuals
interact with AI systems, such as voice assistants (e.g., Siri, Alexa),
object recognition apps (e.g., Be My AI, Seeing AI), and other AI-powered
tools, focusing on how they understand AI outputs, and what explanations are
more effective in building trust.

We are seeking participants for a 30-60 minutes interview, conducted either
online or in person at a location convenient for the participant. During the
interview, participants will discuss their experiences with AI tools and
they make sense of their outputs, and their preferences for AI explanations.

Participants will be eligible to participate in this study if they identify
as blind or low vision, are 18 years of age or older, currently reside in
the U.S., are an English speaker, and have experience with the tools
mentioned above.

As a token of appreciation, participants will receive a $30 Amazon gift card
for their participation. If your organization is willing, we would be
grateful if you could share this opportunity with your community. Interested
individuals can sign up using the following form:

Thank you very much for your time and support. We truly appreciate your
partnership in helping amplify the voices of blind and low-vision users in
this important research.

Warm regards,

Abu Noman Md Sakib
