They are hoping to recruit blind Texans to work on their Austin campus in a specific job area, and they would like to conduct a meeting with blind people who might have an interest in applying for this job. They would like to partner with us to get this information out to blind job seekers, and I have agreed to hot a call for the purpose allowing them to talk about the jobs and to answer any questions potential applicants might have. I can tell you a little about the job, and I will take a minute to do that here.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small"><br class=""></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small">As I stated earlier, right now they are looking for people to perform a specific job. The job requires good listening skills, the ability to understand regional and international dialects and some technology skills. However, this is not a high tech job that requires a vast knowledge of coding or anything like that. The job is to listen to interactions between Siri and customers and to grade those interactions in an effort to improve on Siri's capabilities. This is not a work-from-home job. Successful applicants would need to live in the Austin area and work at Apple's Austin campus. Hours would be either 8-5 or 9-6, weekdays. I don't know what the pay scale is.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small"><br class=""></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small">According to my conversation with the Apple representatives, a degree is preferred but not necessary. So, high school graduates may apply. Finally, the company may be willing to pay some moving costs, but they prefer applicants who already live in or near Austin. Some knowledge of Voiceover for the Mac is preferred, but they say they are definitely willing to provide training in voiceover for the Mac if the individual needs it.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small"><br class=""></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;font-size:small">There is a screening process, as you might imagine.
