Subject: Sign up now for the Last Art Beyond Sight Tour before Summer
Join us at the Seattle Art Museum for the last Art Beyond Sight Tour before summer break! Art Beyond Sight is a free tour program for visitors with low or no vision and sighted guests. On Wednesday, May 22, from 2-3:30 pm, we'll explore the great Pacific Northwest through the lens of the Indigenous peoples and colonizers. We'll look at collection favorites like Kwakwaka'wakw House Posts<http://art.seattleartmuseum.org/objects/4208/dlam-interior-housepost-depicting-upper-one-who-announce?ctx=df450663-dbbb-4962-bc5f-13bb0262b367&idx=13>, contemporary Seattle artist Preston Singletary's glass work Keet Shagoon<http://art.seattleartmuseum.org/objects/30050/keet-shagoon-killer-whale?ctx=9a52f1a1-069d-40b4-8c63-bee80b08db98&idx=2>, and Albert Bierstadt's painting Puget Sound on the Pacific Coast<http://art.seattleartmuseum.org/objects/26759/puget-sound-on-the-pacific-coast?ctx=9a1e4e12-e043-498e-b74e-f774916ee140&idx=1>!
Please note that we will begin our tour in Brotman Forum this time around, which is the main hall on the second floor of the museum, close to the First and Union entrance. (Don't worry, we will still start with roundtable time and refreshments!) Volunteers and staff will be stationed at entrances to help navigate and you can find Seattle Art Museum's Low Vision Map & Guide by clicking here<https://www.seattleartmuseum.org/Documents/Low_Vision_Map_online3.17.17.pdf>. We will provide folding stools in the galleries to all visitors to make the tour a more comfortable experience.
Space for Art Beyond Sight Tours is limited and advanced registration is required. To register, respond to this email or contact Kelsey Donahue kelseyd at seattleartmuseum.org<mailto:kelseyd at seattleartmuseum.org> | (206) 654-3133. Include details like: whether you will be bringing a guest or a guide dog and if we can provide additional accommodations, such as a wheelchair or a docent sighted guide to assist you with wayfinding.
All tours take place at Seattle Art Museum, 1300 First Ave Seattle, WA 98101. SAM's accessible entrance is located at First Ave and Union St. Access vans can drop off/pick up in front of the museum, on First Ave, midway between Union and University Streets, at Metro stop no. 190. For taxi and other rideshares, drop off is located on the southeast corner of First Ave and Union St, on Union.
