Subject: [BHSS] [ACTION] King County Parks Survey - E-Bikes, E-Scooters, Trail Hours

King County Parks is proposing some changes to the King County Code that will affect trail users in a variety of ways. They have a survey with more information on the proposed changes. You have the opportunity to add comments along with your answers until Friday, February 14.

The three proposed changes are:

1.	Allowing Class 1 (pedal assist) and Class 2 (throttle assist) e-bikes on regional trails
2.	Allowing e-scooters on regional trails
3.	Extending the time range that trails are open. Currently, regional trails are only open from dawn to dusk, but they are considering extending it to either 5 am to 10 pm or 24 hours.

Additional bit of information: as the law stands regarding e-bikes, both Class 1 (pedal assist) and Class 2 (throttle assist) e-bikes are allowed on regional trails as long as the local jurisdiction does not have a law against it.
