Transit Center and the University of Washington Link light rail station.
Background & process
With growing traffic congestion in downtown Seattle and on the freeways
feeding downtown, Route 255 service has become slower and less reliable.
Link light rail provides a fast, frequent and reliable alternative between
UW Station and downtown Seattle. By shortening Route 255, the savings are
being reinvested to improve service frequency to at least every 15 minutes
all day, seven days a week until about 10:00 PM.
Metro and other agencies arrived at these revisions and net service
improvements after extensive community involvement over the past year.
Routing & schedule revisions
Route 255 has been shortened
