[CSGreenways] Free Youth Transit Fares Starting Today for Most But Not All Public Transit

 

Hi everyone.

 

Starting today, thanks to the Move Ahead Washington transportation package (read more by Ryan Packer here:  <https://www.theurbanist.org/2022/03/13/welcome-to-the-move-ahead-washington-era/> Welcome to the Move Ahead Washington Era), all youth aged 18 and under can ride most forms of public transportation for free. I write "most" because there is one form of transportation that doesn't technically start until October.

 

Here's the list of public transit agencies (with website links) that are free for youth starting today (September 1):

*	Everett Transit <https://www.everetttransit.org/>  (actually started back on July 1)
*	Community Transit <https://www.communitytransit.org/> 
*	King County Metro <https://kingcounty.gov/depts/transportation/metro.aspx> 
*	Kitsap Transit <https://www.kitsaptransit.com/> 
*	Pierce Transit <https://www.piercetransit.org/> 
*	Seattle Streetcar <https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/getting-around/transit/streetcar> 
*	Sound Transit <https://www.soundtransit.org/> 

The public transit agency that will be free for youth starting on October 1:

*	Washington State Ferries <https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/washington-state-ferries>
