Good afternoon,

In April, Mayor Harrell announced a preview of his Downtown Activation Plan (DAP). <https://harrell.seattle.gov/2023/04/17/downtown-activation-plan-mayor-harrell-announces-immediate-actions-to-revitalize-downtown-issues-executive-order-to-address-fentanyl-crisis/>  These steps represent the first components of the Downtown Activation Plan, with additional actions, policies, and legislation to be announced in the coming weeks building toward the downtown of the future – a complete and thriving downtown neighborhood welcoming to families, workers, small businesses, visitors, tourists, and everyone who calls Seattle home.

Over the last few months, our office has been organizing City departments to understand existing plans, and future aspirations and opportunities to increase the presence of people Downtown, whether that’s City residents, visitors from the greater Puget Sound region, or beyond. 

As a community leader and valued partner to our administration, we’d like to hear your thoughts. In partnership with OED, the Mayor’s Office will host three listening sessions – these sessions will provide an opportunity for attendees to receive an overview of DAP, provide perspective and/or suggestions, and ask questions. I’ve attached a briefing memo and briefing deck of the proposed plan – your partnership and insights will help inform further deliberations as we finalize the plan. Additionally, there is an opportunity to provide comments through the feedback survey below.
