Subject: Reminder: 1 Line service disruptions planned Jan. 13 through Feb. 4

Dear accessibility stakeholders,

As a reminder, beginning Saturday, Jan. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 4,
necessary 1 Line rail maintenance will result in significant service
disruptions between the University of Washington and SODO stations. Today
<https://www.soundtransit.org/get-to-know-us/news-events/news-releases/prepa
re-for-link-service-disruptions-jan-13> 's news release provides details on
why this maintenance work is essential as well as a summary of the service
impacts. All passengers are advised to plan ahead and budget extra time for
travel. This email describes the planned service disruptions. Weekday
service will operate quite differently from weekend service, with details
provided below. The following resources are available to assist with trip
planning:

<https://www.soundtransit.org/ride-with-us/1-line-service-disruption>

Weekday service

On weekdays during this period, 1 Line trains will operate as follows:

*	Trains will run approximately every 13 minutes between the Northgate
and UW stations.
*	Trains will run approximately every 26 minutes between UW and
Stadium stations.
*	Trains will run approximately every 13 minutes between Stadium and
Angle Lake stations.
*	If you board from stations north of UW Station or south of Stadium
Station, you'll need to stay alert to which train you choose. Trains will be
alternating, with every other train continuing through downtown and every
other train being a "short-turn" train, ending at UW Station (when heading
south) or at Stadium Station (when heading north). Visual signs on the
front and sides of the trains and audio announcements inside the trains will
indicate where each train ends.
*	If you board a short-turn train but your destination is between
Capitol Hill and International District/Chinatown stations, you will need to
transfer to another train or bus to complete your journey.
*	The northbound (Northgate) platform will be closed in the following
stations: Westlake, University Street, Pioneer Square, and International
District/Chinatown.
*	At Stadium Station, northbound trains will depart from the
southbound (Angle Lake) platform, while southbound trains will alternate
departing from the southbound (Angle Lake) platform and northbound
(Northgate) platform.
*	Note that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 15, 1 Line
service is planned to operate according to the weekday schedule for this
disruption.
