Hello,
As part of the City of Seattle's Regional Centers planning efforts in <https://www.seattle.gov/opcd/regional-centers-planning/uptown> Uptown, the Office of Planning and Community Development and their consultant team (Agency Landscape and Planning, Public Sphere Projects, and Ideas and Actions) are hosting a series of engagement events for the Uptown Plan. The plan is a roadmap for the neighborhoods as it grows significantly over the next 20 years.
Focus group feedback will help guide investment in public services, amenities, and housing through place-specific policies rooted in community vision. Agency Landscape and Planning will host two community workshops while Public Sphere Projects will conduct two 90-minute virtual focus groups, all during the week of May 4–8.
The focus groups will target specific audiences and explore <https://www.seattle.gov/documents/Departments/RSJI/Resources/Racial-Equity-Toolkit-2012-Jan-2024-Revision.pdf> Racial Equity Toolkit outcomes for each neighborhood. The community workshops will be open to the public and centered on initial findings from technical data and lived experiences of existing conditions.
Community Workshops
Community workshops are open to the public. Guests are welcome to attend either session, as both will cover the same materials about both neighborhoods. The workshops will explore initial findings and ask to hear about community members' experiences. Final locations are coming soon.
* Wed, May 6: 6:15-8pm, Uptown
* Thurs, May 7: 4-7pm, South Lake Union
Virtual Focus Groups
There will be two focus groups for Uptown, exploring: daily transit impacts, diverse home and business ownership models, long-term equity building, arts and cultural spaces, future redevelopment, and affordable amenities and recreation.
* <http://meet.google.com/fdz-zptx-udn> Mon, May 4: 11 - 12:30
* <http://meet.google.com/vct-yxsn-vuk> Tues, May 5: 3-4:30pm
We have included a 1-pager to send to your networks; please help us spread the word!
