Research project is looking for 8-10 participants. This is a paid opportunity and the researchers are willing to meet with people out in the community or provide a travel stipend for people to come to campus. Unfortunately, the research team is in a bit of a time crunch and is hoping to schedule sessions with participants as soon as possible.
I have attached a text-only Word document with the participation details and have also included information about the project below that, if you are comfortable doing so, you could share with others. If you have any questions, I am always available and I know that the researchers, Sabrina and Carlos, would be thrilled to tell you more about the project. Their contact information is at the end of the project details.

Opportunity to support research around 3D digital models
We are recruiting participants for a research study on how people who are blind or have low vision explore and understand 3D digital models through touch. The study is testing a tactile interface that presents cross-sections of 3D models on a dynamic tactile display. If you were at the most recent NFBW convention, you probably had a chance to experience this dynamic tactile display first-hand.
During the research session, participants will explore physical objects and digital models using the tactile display and describe what they feel and how they interpret the structure. This research will help in the design of more accessible 3D modeling tools.
Details
Eligibility: We are seeking individuals who:
* Are blind or have low vision
* Are 18 years or older
* Are comfortable interpreting tactile graphics
* Are comfortable speaking their thoughts aloud during tasks
* Live in or able to travel to the Greater Seattle Metro area
No prior experience with 3D modeling or computer-aided design is required.
Participants will complete a short screening questionnaire before scheduling.
Location:
Sessions will be held in person at the University of Washington campus in Seattle or at a mutually convenient community-based location within the Seattle area.
Session Duration:
60–90 minutes
Compensation:
* Participants will receive $40 per hour for their time.
* Compensation will be provided as an Amazon or Visa gift card.
* Travel reimbursement of up to $30 may be available.
