Research Title: Evaluating Interaction Techniques for Enabling BLV
users Access to Virtual Reality
Being conducted by: University of
Washington

Purpose of the Study
We are recruiting participants for a
research study aimed at improving how people who are blind or have
low-vision can access virtual reality (VR) technology. The study will
evaluate a new prototype controller designed specifically for users who
are blind or have low vision. During the study, participants will wear a
VR headset and use the prototype and a commercial controller to perform
various tasks in a virtual environment.

Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the Study

During the study, participants will wear a virtual reality (VR)
headset and use a prototype controller and a commercial controller to
perform various tasks in a virtual environment. The study will
additionally include interviews to understand the participant's
experience with and expectations of VR technology, and their thoughts on
the usability and accessibility of our prototype controller. The study
will take place in-person during a single session held in the greater
Seattle area. The duration of the session will be 60 - 90
minutes.

Proposed Participant Compensation
Yes, Participants will
be compensated $50 for their time and contributions. The standard form of
