Purpose of the Study

We are recruiting participants for a
research study aimed at improving how people who are blind or have
low-vision can access virtual reality (VR) technology. The study
will
evaluate a new prototype controller designed specifically for
users who
are blind or have low vision. During the study, participants will
wear a
VR headset and use the prototype and a commercial controller to
perform
various tasks in a virtual environment.

Role of the Participants and Anticipated Length of the
Study

During the study, participants will wear a virtual reality (VR)
headset and use a prototype controller and a commercial controller
to
perform various tasks in a virtual environment. The study will
additionally include interviews to understand the participant's
experience with and expectations of VR technology, and their
thoughts on
the usability and accessibility of our prototype controller. The
study
will take place in-person during a single session held in the
greater
Seattle area. The duration of the session will be 60 - 90
minutes.

Proposed Participant Compensation

Yes, Participants will
be compensated $50 for their time and contributions. The standard
form of
payment will be an electronic gift card, but if you prefer a
different
form of payment, we can accommodate alternatives like a US Bank
Rewards
Card or a check. Compensation will be provided after the
session.
