<p>Join us for the upcoming meeting of the NFB of Washington's
Greater Seattle Chapter, taking place this time on September 14,
2024! Be there, be square, and come as yourself! We are all ready
to welcome you with open doors and open arms no matter where you
are in your journey. Whether you are blind, have low vision, know
someone who is (a student, client, ETC) or an ally, you are so
much more than welcome. Please read for the details below, which

<h2>What to Expect:</h2>
<p>Be ready to mingle and connect with fellow blind Seattleites in
our Federation in an informal gathering as we tackle issues
concerning voting in our upcoming elections, local and otherwise.
We will be discussing how to vote, accessible voting, and some
things that we will be planning for the month of October
surrounding this subject. come and get your questions answered. <br>

<p>Speaking of October, which is <a href="https://nabslink.org/blind-equality-achievement-month">National
Blind Equality Achievement Month</a>, we will be discussing our
upcoming annual <a href="https://www.sos.wa.gov/events/2024-09/white-cane-day-walk-2024">White
Cane Day</a> walk, this time happening on Sunday, October 13. So
keep your ears pealed and learn what this is all about!</p>

<p>Our Chapter will also host a guest speaker, Smaran Malakapalli,
from Bellevue high school. He is a student participating in a
project to make things more accessible, and he is bringing some of
the things he has learned about tactile graphics, maps, and how to
improve them for blind people everywhere. His project focuses on
making it better for folks to access those things using updated
technologies, so come on and learn what it's all about! <br>

<p>All this, plus much more, in our monthly chapter meeting. We will
hear the NFB Presidential Release,, some state and national
updates from Marci Carpenter, experiences from our president
teaching at the NFB Washington State BELL Academy, in addition to
our usual business. So, hope to see you at Razzi's on Saturday!
come for the meeting, eat some delicious lunch from the
marvelously prepared delicacies in this restaurant, and connect
with like minded folks all in the same boat. <br>
