My Friends and family in the federation,

 Just a quick note Thanking Every single person who came out on both Saturday to the Lighthouse and Sunday to the hard Rock!
 We had three new folks at the chapter meeting, and some great discussion. We also spread the good word about the federation, that we set about the task of raising expectations everyday because we know that low expectations get in between us and our dreams.
 On Sunday over fifteen people representing The San Francisco, Bay Area, East Bay and River City Chapters converged on the hard rock Cafe and just plain had a good time. Some of us went shopping afterward and then met up for some great conversation and drinks.
  This weekend we showed all who cared to witness that you can have the life you want because we showed, as we always show in the Federation that blindness doesn’t have to hold you back.
  My thanks and appreciation to Kevan, Jessica, LM, Shannon, Tim and anyone else I might have forgotten for helping to make the weekend a success. This activity isn’t the first one that’s been done by one of our chapters, but certainly isn’t going to be the last one that The San Francisco Chapter helps to coordinate.
 Stay tuned for more, and help us make these events large in number and great in impact!

 One Last Thing before I leave you; Jessica got up at 5:30 in the morning after a full day on Saturday in order to run in the “Bay to Breakers” race and has told us that she loved it! She came back with plenty of energy to hang out with her federation family— Way to go, Jessica!
 Happy Monday!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
