All,
Please note the hotline below for any problems during the election. Anyone
who experiences problems should also communicate those issues via the survey
and by contacting Valerie Yingling at our national office: 410.659.9314
vyingling at nfb.org. I will also forward complaints directly to her for those
who reach out to me about inoperable voting machines in California. Those
using the machines in San Francisco and Alameda County may experience
significant delays and problems because of the length of the ballot in this
election. Please be sure to report any problems you encounter so our legal
advocates can follow up.

NFB HOTLINE AND VOTER EXPERIENCE SURVEY FOR BLIND AND LOW VISION VOTERS
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) requires that every polling place have at
least one accessible voting machine available for every federal election so
voters with disabilities can cast a private and independent ballot. To help
ensure that blind and low vision voters are not denied this right, the
National Federation of the Blind will host an Election Day hotline that
blind and low vision voters, poll workers, and voting rights advocates can
call when problems with accessible voting technology or other barriers are
preventing a blind voter from casting a private and independent ballot.
The hotline will be available on November 8, 2016, by calling 1-877-632-1940
from 7 a.m. EST to 7 p.m. PST. Individuals who have experience in the
operation of accessible voting technology will be staffing the hotline to
provide assistance to blind voters, election officials, and voting rights
advocates.
Once you have exercised your fundamental right to vote, please complete our
2016 Blind and Low Vision Voter Experience Survey! If you cast your ballot
at an early voting center, your local polling place on Election Day, or by
absentee ballot that you received by regular mail, please complete the
survey at <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JJ5N38X>
