[Nfbsf] Chapter elections next week

Hi Everyone,

This is a reminder that we will have elections at our next chapter meeting on Tuesday, February 12. 

Here is more about the positions.

First vice president: normally up for election in even years, Lisamaria is stepping down and we will have a special election for a one-year term for this position.

The positions for two-year terms are:

Secretary
Treasurer
Board position one
Board position two

There is a nominating committee composed of myself, Kate and Lisamaria. If you are interested in being considered by the nominating committee for any of the open positions, please email a few sentences about why you would like the position and what you would bring to it by Friday the 8th. 

I want to emphasize that these are open elections and any dues paying member of the San Francisco chapter can run for any position. You do not have to submit your name for consideration to the nominating committee; you can run from the floor. Additionally, if the nominating committee informs you that they will be recommending someone else for the position you are interested in, you can also run from the floor. 

During elections, If more than one person is running for a position, each person will be asked to give a brief statement and then we will vote.
