Legislative Announcements

* On Monday, November 1, we issued a legislative alert asking all of
you to contact Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer urging them to
restore the Access Technology Affordability Act (ATAA) to the Build Back
Better (BBB) Act. While our response was strong-we estimate hundreds of
emails were sent to each office-the ATAA was, unfortunately, not restored.

* Currently, the House version of the BBB is waiting for a
Congressional Budget Office score and is likely to be passed by the House
during the week of November 15. The good news for us is that the Senate is
extremely likely to change the BBB before passing it. This means we have an
opportunity to get the Access Technology Affordability Act back in the bill.

* As a result, we are updating our request from the November 1
legislative alert. First, if you have not already sent your email to Speaker
Pelosi or Majority Leader Schumer's office, please do so. Additionally, if
your individual Senator or Representative has not cosponsored the Access
Technology Affordability Act, please ask them to do so. The more support
the ATAA has in the House and Senate, the better our chances will be to have
it included in the Senate version of the Build Back Better Act.
