Meeting Minutes: Tuesday 11/11/2024 6:30 PM,

1. Call to Order and Introductions - Bobbi.
Ice breaker question: "What are you grateful for?"
Board attendees: Bobbi, Christina, Sheri (came late), Laura, Sarah
Members: Sheila Gunn, was new to the meeting, Taryn, Monica, Jeff, Lisa,
Steven
2. Reports
a. Secretary's Report - Bobbi reported that Sheri just sent out the
minutes on Sunday. Bobbi asked for any corrections and Steven stated that he
was not listed as present at October meeting. A motion was made to accept
the minutes as amended. and it passed.
b. Treasurer's report - Sarah
Sarah stated that the balance of the checking account is $976.60.
c. Presidential release recap - Bobbi
Bobbi reminded the chapter that there is a new format of the Presidential
Release to be played during chapter meetings that lasts 15-minute. Laura was
prepared to give a summary of the long version, if the chapter preferred,
and President Bobbi opened the floor for discussion. The decision was made
to listen to the short version again. Discussion began around the Kernel
books, and an idea of a California Affiliate Kernel Book was brought up.
d. Legislative update: - Bobbi
Bobbi reported that Affiliate President Tim Elder gave them the City of San
Francisco White Cane and Guide Dog Awareness Day Proclamation, signed by
Mayor London Breed. They will bring it to the next gathering for all to see.
Bobbi reported that after the Uber and Lyft Rally, Uber announced the
upcoming feature that will have the rider disclose whether they have a
disability and if they have a service animal. This information would be
disclosed to the driver before they accept the ride. NFB stands that this is
unlawful and will only agree if the information is disclosed after the ride
is confirmed, and if the rife is cancelled, then consequences will follow.
Discussion followed.
Bobbi stated the NFB National wants to know how your voting experience went,
whether it was good or bad. Members shared their stories with each other.
3. Chapter business
a. Holiday Party - Bobbi, Laura, Lisa
The choices to be made are for the location and type of meal. Location is
between Monica's condo clubhouse near Lake Merit in Oakland, (where we were
last year) or the LightHouse in San Francisco. Discussion and vote:
LightHouse will be the location. The next decision is to Pot-luck or
Order-in. Discussion and vote: Pot-luck won. The date for the event was then
discussed, and 12/14 or 12/15 at 3PM.
4. Bobbi Adjourned the
meeting.
