Hello All,

Perhaps you saw the recent new story about the blind San Jose special
education teacher, her guide dog, and her experience with ride-share
denials. Today, I spoke to the reporter. In addition to being invited for an
interview, I learned that a second story is forthcoming. That story will
primarily focus on evidence-based results from Guide Dogs for the Blind
ride-share survey.

This afternoon, I spoke to the Media Relations Coordinator from the Seeing
Eye. She emailed me today's press release about their broader guide dog
survey. I have attached the press release. The release contains the link to
the survey results. The second survey further supports results from GDB's
recently published survey.

What does this mean, and how does this pertain to our community? We have a
brief window to capitalize on the results from two evidenced-based survey
and garner support from the media to expose the epidemic of discrimination
that ride-share companies engage in and get away with at our emotional,
financial, and physical expense.

I have reached out to the NFBC State President and to a CAGDU leader. I will
be interviewed next week in conjunction with an interview with GDB's CEO.

I am hopeful that our NFBC President will consider a letter of endorsement
that we can use to approach the media to secure publicity of the issue and
its impact on our lives.

Warmly, Lisa M. Irving
