Bobbi went on to say that there has been a recent change to our Board of
Directors. Board Member, Serena Olsen will no longer be able to serve on the
Board because she got a job with UC Berkeley Dining Services and her
schedule conflicts with our meetings. Board Member Jeanette Torres will also
no longer be able to serve on the Board as she has decided to step away from
the Chapter. Both Serena and Jeanette will be missed. As president, Bobbi
can appoint new Board Members until the next election cycle which begins in
February 2025. If anyone is interested in serving in this capacity, please
contact Bobbi for consideration.

2.	Reports

a.	Secretary's Report - Sheri

Sheri asked if anyone had a chance to read the minutes because they were
emailed the night before the meeting. Laura offered to read them and offer a
motion to approve.

Sheri then offered an apology to President Bobbi and the Chapter that she
has been a "horrible" Secretary, and that the position was more than she
expected. Sheri announced that she is going to finish her term as Secretary
until February, but will not be seeking reelection.

Laura made a motion to approve the September minutes, and it passed.

Treasurer's report - Sarah

Sarah discussed a problem with PayPal due to the new bank account, and asked
that member not use it to send funds to the chapter in the future. The
balance of the checking account is $976.60.

b.	Presidential release recap - Bobbi

Bobbi played the new 15-minute Chapter Meeting version that is now available
to be played during chapter meetings. You can find these recordings and
transcripts on NFB.org

President Bobbi opened the discussion for opinions on the new format of the
Presidential Release

c.	Legislative update: Uber and Lyft Rally - Bobbi reported the event
will be on 10/15/2024 from 10 - 3 PM. There will be a bus from the Crowne
Plaza SFO taking people to the Uber HQ where the rally will begin. There
will be a break for lunch, and then on to Lyft HQ . Please make banners,
or signs if you can.

Discussion followed about what NFB is asking from Uber and Lyft. Here are
the four: Uber and Lyft cannot discriminate against blind passengers, there
must be a zero-tolerance policy for drivers, rideshare companies must reduce
the burden on blind passengers when reporting denials, and better education
is needed for drivers regarding laws and policies pertaining to blind
passengers and guide dog users. Lisa added that this is being referred to as
a Rally and not a "protest" with the purpose to bring public awareness, and
keep it positive. If you want to go, please register at
