[NFBSF] New California Prescription Labeling Law

Hello All, 

 

I have copied an email from Jeff Thom, Past President for CCB, and a
nationally recognized disability justice advocate whose work has focused on
advancing the rights of aging and blindness issues state-wide, and
nationally. 

 

I am extremely pleased to report that accessible drug labeling in now the
law in California. The Governor has just signed AB1902, CCB's bill to
mandate the provision of accessible drug information upon request, in to
law. Under Regina's leadership, the fine work of Assemblyman Juan Alanis
from Modesto, and support from many within the organization and many health
care, disability advocacy and other organizations, we managed to achieve
what we doubted would come to pass in this state. Congratulations to
everyone who worked on this project. Your homework, starting in 2025, is to
take advantage of this law if you don't already get accessible drug
information.
