Dear NFBSF Chapter Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our dear friend and
advocate, Beth Berenson. Beth was someone who carried so much of the NFB’s
positive blindness philosophy in her heart, even though she had not been as
active in recent years. Her warmth, her strength, and her belief in the
power of our community left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

For those who didn’t have the chance to know Beth, I’ve attached a write-up
from the Lighthouse blog and her time working there that beautifully
captures her life, the community and the work she cared so deeply about.

To honor Beth’s legacy and provide space for us to celebrate her life
together, we will be hosting a community Zoom call some time in the near
future. Details will be shared as they unfold.

I am so grateful for the impact she had on me, my family and our community!
She was a dear friend and she will be deeply missed. May her memory be a
blessing.

Warmly,

Laura Millar MPH, M.A., MCHES (She/Her)
