This sounds like a great opportunity. How much climbing experience is assumed for the participant?

Subject: [NFBSF] Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Opportunity for blind adventurers and their sighted guide Fall 2025

Team NFB and SF Lighthouse

Just wanted to reach out to the NFB SF chapter and the SF Lighthouse community to highlight a rare opportunity for 2 blind adventurers and their sighted guides. A group of us from North America have organized a Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Adventure through a well respected outfitter which provides expertly guided climbs to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is to be an adventure focusing on persons with visual disabilities and the hope is to set a world record for the most number of sight impaired persons to summit one of the 7 summits . Due to some injuries, there are two slots now available on the climb and I wanted to see if anyone from the NFB SF Chapter or and / or SF Lighthouse community could circulate among its sphere of influences the opportunity. Post climb, there will be an opportunity to go on an African Safari in Tanzania, again focusing on persons with visual disabilities and their sighted guides. . The goal will be to begin the summit climb on October 1, 2025, with an arrival time a few days before to prepare for the adventure. This is a once in a lifetime type of opportunity and I want to make sure that all slots on the climb are filled by those who
may want to create a memory of a lifetime. There is no funding for this
trip so all are on their own financially, but there are economies of scale for the trip costs.

I will stop there and open myself up to any questions anyone interested may have about the trip My email is wtr1977 at yahoo.com <mailto:wtr1977 at yahoo.com> if anyone would like to ask any and all questions they have about the trip.
