A reminder: this month, the only thing on our calendar is our Holiday Party!


The National Federation of the Blind San Francisco Chapter invites you to
celebrate the season with us at our annual Holiday Party! As a community of
blind individuals, families, and allies working together to achieve the
dreams of blind people, we believe in celebrating our achievements,
friendships, and the year behind us. Join us at La Penca Azul for an
afternoon of good food, great friends, and festive fun.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT:

 

*	Delicious food (everyone orders from the menu)
*	Wonderful company and community connection
*	Fun little competitions and games
*	Optional White Elephant gift exchange

 

DRESS CODE & FESTIVE COSTUME CONTEST:

 

Come however you like - but we're awarding a prize for the MOST FESTIVE!
Whether that's the ugliest holiday sweater, the flashiest light-up necklace,
a halo crown, a tactile masterpiece, or your own creative interpretation of
festive spirit - bring it! Casual is fine, but festive is FUN. Show us your
holiday style!


WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE (OPTIONAL):

 

Want to join in the fun? Bring a wrapped gift (around $15-20 value) for EACH
person in your party who wants to participate in our White Elephant
exchange! Not familiar with White Elephant? It's a hilarious gift-swapping
game where everyone brings a quirky, funny, or useful gift. 

 

Here's how it works:

 

1.	Everyone who brings a gift gets a number
2.	Player #1 opens any wrapped gift from the pile
3.	Player #2 can either steal Player #1's unwrapped gift OR open a new
one
4.	If your gift gets stolen, you can steal someone else's gift or open
a new one (but you can't immediately steal back the gift that was just taken
from you!)
5.	Each gift can only be stolen 3 times total, then it's "frozen" with
its current owner
6.	The last person gets to choose from any gift or open the final
wrapped one


The fun is in the surprises, the friendly stealing, and the laughter that
ensues! Participation is totally optional - you're welcome to just enjoy
watching the chaos unfold.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:



December is a busy month for everybody, so just a reminder: we are NOT
having our chapter meeting this month, and our social is a week earlier than
usual. There is also no community conversation in December.


As we gather to celebrate, we honor the spirit of the NFB: Live the Life You
Want. Thank you for an excellent 2025 - here's to living the lives we want
together in 2026!
