Dear Laura:

I’m so sorry I’ve been out of the loop for so long. However, my priority has been working with the Israeli Palestine peace movement, given that I am a citizen of both United States and Israel and Israel has been doing horrible things during the pasttwo years and longer. Anyway, I would like to know When the event is supposed to occur, and what you have in mind for such an event, it really does sound wonderful!
Thanks so much!

All the best,

Daveed

Hello Bay Area Blind Community!

Save the Date for Friendsgiving!
Saturday, November 22, 2025

East Bay Center for the Blind
2928 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA 94703

Time: 1:00 PM (official time to be determined by the committee)

We’re excited to bring our community together for something special! Our
advocacy groups—the National Federation of the Blind San Francisco Chapter
(NFBSF) and the California Council of the Blind San Francisco Chapter
(CCB)—are partnering with the East Bay Center for the Blind to host our
very first Friendsgiving celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity to
unite the Bay Area Blind Community, celebrate the advocacy work we do, and
enjoy a warm gathering with friends old and new. All Bay Area Blind
Community members are warmly invited!

Want to help make it happen?
We’re inviting you to join the Friendsgiving Planning Committee! Our first
meeting is tonight – I know it’s last minute for some, but we’d love to
have you join us if you can!

You do not have to be a member of any of these affiliate groups to join the
planning committee. This is a community event and the more the merrier!

Our soft launch is tonight, and we will have a more formal meeting and
launch next week when more people can join us, but there’s lots we can get
started on!
We have seven Mondays between now and Friendsgiving, so there’s plenty of
time to plan something special! The committee can decide together if weekly
meetings work best for everyone.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
• Outreach to our community
• Determining the menu and coordinating food
• Organizing decorations and ambiance
• Planning fun activities and entertainment
• Coordinating volunteers for the day of the event
• Managing RSVPs and guest communication
• Soliciting donations and fundraising
• Creating promotional materials
• And so much more!

Whether you can commit to the whole planning process or just want to help
with specific tasks, we’d love to have you involved.

Join us tonight:
Laura is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
