[NFBSF] October 3: Accessible dance and audio description workshop at Smuin Ballet

Hello NFB San Francisco Chapter members,

Smuin Contemporary Ballet has invited blind and low vision members of our
community to an interactive Audio Description Orientation Event.

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Location: Smuin Center for Dance, 1830 17th Street, San Francisco

Audio describer Ian Buchanan and Smuin Company Artist Margot Aknin will
introduce dance, ballet terminology, movement, and spatial concepts through
touch and description. You do not need to attend a Smuin performance to
participate.

Cost and access:

The workshop is free for people who have purchased an audio-described Smuin
performance ticket.

For other participants, registration is $5 and includes a $5 discount
toward a future Smuin performance.

Personal care attendants, guides, and companions attend at no cost.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

October 17 at the Cowell Theater.
