Kicking off Blindness Awareness Month Right!

The San Jose Sharks, The Dented Puck Foundation, and BORP are thrilled to
host our first Try Blind Hockey and Skating for the Visually Impaired event
in the Bay area at the end of the month!

*When:*  Wednesday, October 21  6:00pm - 7:00pm
*Where:*  Sharks Ice San Jose -  1500 South 10th Street, San Jose, CA 95112
(at the corner of Alma Ave and 10th St)
*Who:*  The visually impaired community of the greater Bay area and their
friends/families.

Whether you're an all star hockey player who lost their sight, or you've
never even roller skated before, come try ice skating in a safe
environment.   Supported by members of the US Blind Hockey Team and local
hockey players, you will learn to skate in a safe, blind-friendly
environment.   And even score a goal against a real blind hockey goal with
our big, loud blind hockey puck!

Blind Hockey is a community, please bring a friend or a family member to
skate with you.  We will provide everyone skates, helmets, and sticks, all
you gotta do is take that first step on the ice!
Our ice time is from 6pm - 7pm, we ask that you arrive between 5:30pm and
5:45pm to get skates and get comfortable.

The San Jose Sharks have shown great interest in beginning a blind hockey
program this season following our skate.  The local program would offer
everything from 1 on 1 support for first timers, all the way up to elite
training for blind hockey players.  If you are already chomping at the bit
to get on the ice (pun intended) and are interested in joining the local
