Subject: Fabulous opportunity for the NFB (this is Sarah Blumberg)

Hi John,

I am hoping you wouldn’t mind sending this out to our chapter, the Fairfax Chapter, Alexandria and DC chapters. Thanks!

Dear Fellow Federationists:

My name is Sarah Blumberg and I’m a board member and the social chair for the PCNFB. I have a fabulous opportunity available for you all to show the world how how competent you all are as blind people and to demonstrate the philosophy of our federation; that blindness does not hold blind people back from reaching their goals and dreams! I have just received employment as a Pax coordinator, an international student esxchange program for high school students. My job is to vet local high schools and families to host students for a year. You as a host family must be able to provide the student with a bed, three meals a day and in your case, show them how to use local public transportation to get to school. You also must be at least ten years older than the student. This is truly a fabulous way to break the boundaries and steroytypes of who and what blind people are and to prove that sight doesn’t have anything to do with being a good parent! If you are interested, please do contact me asap at sbbpax at gmail.com <mailto:sbbpax at gmail.com> , or via my cell at 202-427-4814. I look forward to speaking with you and to begin the process of vetting you all as host families!

Sincerely,

Sarah Blumberg

PAX Community Coordinator
