WMATA Extended Weekend Metrorail Shutdown

There will be  <https://dashbus.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3e5af002d0f37061a505927f2&id=dfbdbf6658&e=8d0df8515b> no Blue or Yellow line Metrorail trains between the Braddock Rd and Pentagon City stations over Veterans Day weekend (Friday, November 9 through Monday, November 12), due to a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) project. Free shuttle bus service will operate between the Braddock Rd, National Airport, Crystal City and Pentagon City stations for the duration of the work.

WMATA is closing the Reagan National Airport and Crystal City Metrorail stations from November 9 to 12 for a four-day capital improvement project. The work was scheduled over the holiday weekend to minimize rider impacts, but WMATA encourages customers traveling to or from stations south of Pentagon City to allow for additional time to travel through the work zone.

WMATA also advises that:

• On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 12, Blue and Yellow and will operate at Saturday service levels. 

• Blue and Yellow customers may experience crowding on Friday, Nov. 9 as trains operate less frequently than normal. 

• Free express shuttle bus service will be provided between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon Metrorail stations on Friday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 12 from opening until 8:00 p.m.

• Some customers traveling between Virginia and D.C. may consider VRE train service between Franconia-Springfield, King St or Crystal City and L’Enfant Plaza or Union Station.
