You’ll be hearing more about the Challenge in the coming months, but the first thing you all should know is that the kickoff event is coming up on Saturday, October 6, which is National Blind Sports Day. On that day, events will be held all over the country to recognize the wide range of athletic opportunities open to people who are blind or visually impaired, and this year DC will be joining the fun. We will be holding demos in goalball, tandem cycling and other sports at the Columbia Heights Community center, where we typically have our goalball practices, and you’re all encouraged to attend. We’d also like you to help us spread the word to as many members of the blind community as possible. We want this event to reach a wide audience, including kids and seniors. So if you have contacts who aren’t on this email list but who you think might like to learn about some of the sports we offer, please share the below link with them: https://goo.gl/forms/BZ2yAQc1o3WVuwVn1. You can also invite people to the Facebook event, which is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1284434158363698/.
