Staff Assistant/Rooms Coordinator - The Senate Committee on Rules
and
Administration is accepting applications for a non-designated
staff
assistant. Position requires a Bachelor's degree, knowledge of
modern
office practices, procedures and equipment, ability to accurately
prepare and process a variety of reports, records, and documents
using a
database, spreadsheet and word processing software. Qualified
applicants must possess an enthusiastic demeanor as well as the
ability
to excel in a fast paced, often stressful working environment,
have
excellent interpersonal skills, be highly organized, be able to
work
well in a team environment, be able to convey messages accurately
and
promptly, have excellent oral and written communication skills,
as well
as the ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships
with Senate staff and the public. Duties include, but are not
limited
to: evaluating and processing all requests for Senate event
space,
working with administrative staff in Senate offices to resolve
scheduling conflicts and ensure compliance with regulations. In
addition, assists the committee's administrative staff to process
mail,
answer phones, greet guest, and maintain the appearance of the
reception
area.
